On the way to the Colosseum
I haven’t got much editing done these last few weeks. I’ve been trying to put together a photo book of our travels last year and the voucher I’m using expires on Thursday so it’s a bit rushed. Plus I was quite busy on the weekend taking photos (posts to follow) and watching Hobbits.
Anyway, here’s a few pictures from the morning on the second day on our walk from the Hotel to meet our friends at the Colosseum. There’s not to many as we were a bit rushed, the Hotel was further away than we thought!

You are an incredible talent! Every visit here is a delight!
Thanks!
Wow. nice shots! I’ll drop by often.
Cheers James!

What is the structure in the 3rd photo (hopefully I;m not revealing too much ignorance)
According to Wikipedia it is the Lateranense Obelisk, at or in Piazza di San Giovanni in Laterano (basically it’s on the other side of the building in the first picture). It’s the first on on the list at this wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_obelisks_in_Rome
And, I just found out, apparently it came from the temple of Karnak, which I’ve also been too! http://geoffwah.wordpress.com/2012/03/15/temple-of-karnak/
I like the angle in the last one, gives a different perspective.
