Welcome to Rome, can I have an apple?
This is going to be a long ride, I have a lot of shots to go through and edit. I may be some time…
While in Rome I tried a wee experiment, I left my protective filters at home (all Hoya Pro 1′s which usually never leave my lenses unless I’m putting a polariser on). I wanted to see if image quality was improved by not using them. My first few run through of all my shots seem to show an improvement, though it could be my imagination. I know this isn’t very scientific but I don’t have the patience to try real tests.
In the mean time here’s a picture of a horse outside the Pantheon.
By the way, Rome was awesome, though I think I’ve put on about 5kg from all the Pasta and Pizza.

Beautiful shot. Love the wide angle and colors.
Thanks, glad you like it
Interesting that Geoff – I stopped using my UV/protect filters a couple of months back.
Yeah, they’re all 77mm ones, maybe I’ll use them as coasters!
The horse clearly likes your work, but he does have a somewhat ‘blinkered’ viewpoint
I think he was trying to convince me to go on a carriage ride!
Beautifull. I miss Rome.
I have a feeling I’m going to miss it too.
Looking forward to see more pictures of Rome
I wonder if filters really do more to enhance our images or if the atmospheric conditions contribute to the end result. Great shot I look forward to more Italy images. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
This is a brilliant shot! The colors and the clarity are amazing to look at.
Fabulous!! The horse, yes, but also the entire photo!
