Chelsea auto legends, part 2
I warned you I may do a part 2. But I got bored of all the pictures of cars with other cars and loads of people around them so I decided to experiment a bit. I picked these 3 shots, white cars in the shade with darkish backgrounds. Then in Lightroom I took the levels of both blacks and shadows down as far as they would go and boosted the contrast a lot (being careful not blow the highlights). Then exported them into Photoshop where I painted any bits that were still showing in the background black. Then in Nik Color Efex 4 I boosted the contrast a bit more using the pro contrast filter, then added the glamour glow filter which is meant for portraits but I find works well on some landscapes and now cars too!
The end result is quite cool, until you look at them closely and notice reflections of people and trees on the paintwork! At the bottom you can see the 3 original RAW files (a quick screen grab from Lightroom, hence the grey boarders!)
*Edit* I’m off to Rome tomorrow for 6 days so I may be a bit quiet over the next week.

These work really well Geoff and look very professional – they wouldn’t look out of place in a car magazine.
Thanks Mark! Doing this kinda makes me want to invest in a studio and proper lighting.
Very cool effect. I have a car just like the first shot. NOT!!!
I know you don’t because it’s mine! HAH! *jokes*
Well done! I had to stop and comment your car images. Excellent processing and excellent photography. Oh, did I say?….Well done.
Thanks! Glad you like them!

Cheers!
Those photographs are amazing! Great light.
